Day of the Dead Gathering and Ancestors Ceremony

Friday, November 2, 6:45-9 pm

Led by Jennie and Michael

Our annual Ceremony of Remembrance for the Ancestors, and for all loved ones who have passed. Spirits who are not remembered or acknowledged can feed on the living. This is particularly true for spirits who died as a result of trauma. One way to understand the state of our country and the world is that we have cut ourselves off from the spirits and Ancestors, and being hungry, they are feeding on us.As part of the ceremony we will ask for healing for any spirit that is suffering and for anyone present who wishes healing. Bring photos, stories, and vegetarian food or drink your Ancestors and loved ones would have loved. You may place these on the altar. Flowers are also welcome. The ceremony will be at our home and begin at 7 p.m.

A potluck follows the ceremony and story-sharing.   Free. RSVP , “Yeses”,  please so we can plan. Contact us for directions. 860-6203. journeyworks@hotmail.com

Embodying Mind-Body Leadership with Linda Marks,MSM

December 1, 2018

Time: 9:00am-5:00pm; Bishop Booth Conference Center

Embodying mind-body leadership is a way of life.  As we become more emotionally embodied, and cultivate intentional presence of mind, body, Hara and heart with our practice, whether it be in energywork or mental health we naturally become integrated mind-body leaders.  What we embody creates an energy field that holds everyone around us.  Incorporating mind-body meditation, grounding exercises, group discussion and a wonderful mind-body tool called the Inner Board of Directors, we will explore how to stay grounded and connected with the flow of life, including challenging situations requiring us to embody leadership skills.  We will also reflect on what’s in the way of embodying our leadership right now, and how to move through these barriers so we can become more emotionally embodied, maintain an intentional presence and be the leaders we can be.
Reclaiming Space for Women
Wednesday, December 12, 2018
6:30 PM – 9 PM
Hosted by Jennie Kristel, REAT, APTT, RMT
and Corrine Mertz,MSW LICSW
It is not easy to be a woman in our country or world right now, and if you are a woman who carries other marginalized identities existing becomes even more layered and complicated. We are creating a space for women of many identities to claim and hold space together. As women, we do not want to stand by and watch but instead take action: Come together and RAISE and hear our voices come together. No one should feel like they’re going through grief, anger, resentment, or silence alone. If you are finding yourself disheartened, grieving, or coping with the current state of our world or your own personal world, and needing to hold space for these complex feelings with other women we hope you will consider joining us. Our time together will incorporate using our voices, sound, visual art, journaling and movement, to imagine and bring forth our strength and our voices. We understand the history of women’s spaces being marginalizing to women who carry many other marginalized identities and we aim to create an intersectional space that allows all women’s identities to be present and valued. We do not claim to be experts in intersectionality but aim to create a space that values everyone equally and with confidentiality so we simply can be who we are and where we are right now while perhaps offering a way to be less alone and to remember that we do Matter.
Please bring a blank paged journal to write or draw in. All other materials are supplied
Light refreshments offered. Suggested donation of $15.
